Randy has been with Kleinfeld as the fashion director for the last year. He brought over fifteen years of bridal fashion and design experience when he joined Kleinfeld.

Born in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Randy has always had a passion for design and fashion, designing and sewing gowns from the time he was nine years old. Randy designed his own bridal line for many years and therefore has a practiced and perfected eye for embroideries, laces, beading and bustles. Most importantly, Randy's fashion sense and honesty enable him to truthfully advise the brides when making their wedding gown decision. He says that a bride's wedding gown is the most important dress she will ever wear, and he feels honored and privileged to work with brides and to help turn their bridal fantasies into realities.

Say Yes to the Dress is a new series that brings the viewer into the inner workings of the world's premier bridal salon, Kleinfeld Bridal. Located in Manhattan on a narrow street in Chelsea, who would expect that this three-window storefront opens up to over 30,000 square feet filled with taffeta, organza silk, and feathered creations. Part fashion show, part bridal story, part family therapy, we uncover the hurdles every staff member faces to make each bride completely satisfied on what may be the single most important day of their lives. Watch as a team of specialists guide brides through the process of selecting, fitting, altering and delivering each flawless dress in time for the perfect day. It's not a stress-free endeavor, but somehow by the final fitting Kleinfeld pulls all of the details together.

Inside over 250 employees work to make every bride that walks through the door feel like she is worth a million. At the top, are co-owners Ronnie and Mara. In the world of high bridal fashion, one would expect the stuffy and standoffish attitude of an owner or two, but co-owners Ronnie and Mara run this business like a family. This is what the "Kleinfeld Experience" is all about. Treating every customer as if they were family, paying every attention to detail and making every bride feel like a star.

Ultimately, this series is more than a simple story about a woman searching for the perfect dress, whatever the price. It's about the stories behind the story. The people, the personalities, the craftsmanship, the fine attention to detail, and the lengths to which staff members will go in order to make every girl that walks through the door enter a new stage of life with confidence and joy. Kleinfeld Bridal is truly a family; a family of 250 working under the guidance of Ronnie and Mara.

This is the Kleinfeld Experience...

I'm betting your Kleinfeld experience is almost wholly dependent on the consultant you get paired with and I got seriously lucky! (Because I declined to be on the show, I thought I'd get a newbie or someone "not good") I got Audrey, a show regular, and I can't say enough positive things about her. (And she's a riot to boot!) She was personable, gracious to my mom and MOH, never pushy, and always receptive to what I said. She understood my style, which is not at all "bridal" and only pulled dresses that fit it. She even let me and my entourage of 2 go back in the dress sample/stock room with her to pull dresses! (We could overhear several consultants with their brides during our visit, and if I would have been paired with them, I imagine my experience would have been a nightmare!) Several people featured in the show, including Randy and Vera, came by to talk with us, and they too were gracious, genuine, and eager to help. It was such a uniquely "New York" experience for my mom, who lives in Missouri and is familiar with the show, and she had quite a story to bring home to her friends and family!

I ended up getting my dress here and the staff suggested money saving tips (I live in NYC but was able to ship to out-of-state parents and pay NO tax and they also gave me a 10% discount because of a trunk show that happened days ago.) The dress came early, was everything I expected, and my alterations went smoothly. The $595 alterations fee is a crap shoot-- I ended up having basic alterations done (had to decide before I took the dress outta the box) so if I would have known that, I would have had a friend do them.) If you need a dress overhaul/lots of beading resewn, then it's not bad.

In the end, it was the appointment I was dreading the most and ended up enjoying the most. And if you're a bride like me who knows the look she wants but doesn't find it in most salons, Kleinfeld's sheer number of dresses really helps.

AND MY ADVICE: Get recommendations from friends, or comb through YELP to read about specific consultants, and then try to specify who you want. It'll make or break your experience.

Now that my wedding is over, I have to say that Kleinfeld went above and beyond what I expected from the store. My dress (custom Pnina Tornai) was fitted impeccably, despite significant weight loss on my part. The woman who handled my alterations was a dream, and my original sales consultant (Rochel Leah) was present at every fitting and available whenever I needed anything.

We had our alterations person serve as a dresser for the day of the wedding, and THANK GOODNESS, because my mother's dress (not Kleinfeld's) ended up tearing in several places right before the ceremony and she was there to literally save the day. My dress was a little big too, so she sewed me into it to make sure it looked perfect!

If I could give the Kleinfeld team more than 5 stars, I would. I am a cynic, but they truly surpassed any and all expectations.
